Annual Raleigh St. Patrick's Day Parade & Festival (March)

Since 1983, locals and visitors alike have been celebrating Ireland and Irish heritage in style. From the humble but delightful beginnings of a small parade, the Annual Raleigh St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival has grown into a full-fledged citywide event complete with a spectacular parade, a variety of vendor booths selling Irish jewelry and other souvenirs, food, live entertainment, as well as games and activities for kids.

Full Frame Documentary Film Festival (April)

The Full Frame Documentary Film Festival is an annual international event dedicated to the theatrical exhibition of non-fiction cinema. Each spring Full Frame welcomes filmmakers and film lovers from around the world to historic downtown Durham, North Carolina for a four-day, morning to midnight array of over 100 films as well as discussions, panels, and southern hospitality. Set within a four block radius, the intimate festival landscape fosters community and conversation between filmmakers, film professionals and the public.

Raleigh Rock n' Roll Marathon (April)

The sights and scenery of the City of Oaks will be on display for thousands of runners from across the country as the Raleigh Rock 'n' Roll Marathon & ½ Marathon takes off each Spring. Book any of our Raleigh hotels for a restful evening prior to the race or stay the whole weekend to experience all that Raleigh has to offer.

World Beer Festival (April and October)

Beer afficionados and amateurs alike will have an absolute blast at this festival. The Durham World Beer Festival is held in October while the Raleigh World Beer Festival is held in April. Tickets to this one-day festival give revelers the opportunity to enjoy live music by local bands while sampling from a selection of 300 beers from more than 100 breweries. Guests also receive a festival tasting glass and are welcome to attend educational sessions from industry experts. And, yes, there will be great food, too.

Artsplosure (May)

This fantastic festival is just what it sounds like—an explosion of art and culture! Held annually, Artspolosure is also known at the Raleigh Arts Festival and is held every year at Moore Square and City Plaza. This not-to-miss two-day festival features gorgeous and impressive work from visual artists and craftspeople, delicious specialty dishes from food and novelty eats vendors, and incredible entertainment from live performers and musicians.

IRONMAN 70.3 (June)

The point-to-point event will start at Jordan Lake. The scenic bike course will ride through Chatham County and into Wake County before entering downtown Raleigh. The spectacular run course will take athletes through some of the city's most famous landmarks and finish on Fayetteville Street. Ironman Raleigh.

World Bluegrass Festival (September)

World of Bluegrass week is the annual homecoming for the bluegrass music community, taking place September 24-28, 2013 in Raleigh, North Carolina. World of Bluegrass features three separate events: the IBMA Business Conference (Sept. 24-26) that focuses on development and networking for bluegrass professionals, the International Bluegrass Music Awards (Sept. 26) and Wide Open Bluegrass (Sept. 27-28), which will host the best in bluegrass music as well as multiple workshops, jam sessions and activities (ticketed events)

Hopscotch Music Festival (September)

The Raleigh-Durham area is proud of its rich and historic music scene and the Independent Hopscotch Music Festival is an incredible testament to the vibrant musical community in the area and the respect its music has gained from musicians the world over. Hopscotch Music Festival brings remarkable bands in most every genre imaginable to the creative community of downtown Raleigh. Held annually in September,this three-day festival allows fans to catch as many shows as they can in the city plaza as well as at numerous clubs and venues throughout Raleigh. Through thoughtful programming and a belief that art should be experienced in an environment that suits the artist, Hopscotch is one of North America's most talked-about long weekends for music lovers.

North Carolina State Fair (October)

Since 1853, the North Carolina State Fair has been bringing the community together for celebration, information, contests and entertainment. Held for 10 days every October, the state fair features just about everything under the sun, including concerts, fireworks, tractor pulls, sport stunts shows, demolition derbies, a fun park for kids, amazing rides for adults and older kids, a wide variety of agricultural exhibitions and competitions, and just about every kind of food you'd expect to get at a state fair.

First Night Raleigh (December)

This one-of-a-kind community New Year's Eve celebration, First Night Raleigh, brings locals and visitors together to ring in the coming year in grand style. Complete with live music, dance, comedy, film and children's activities, this is the perfect family-friendly New Year's Eve party.
